On Wednesday night in Tampa Bay, Kyle Lowry recorded his 10000th point while as a member of the Toronto Raptors in a 115-108 Toronto loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. So where does he rank among the greatest Raptors scorers of all-time? Let’s take a look at the top five Raptors scorers in franchise history.
5) Andrea Bargnani–The native of Rome, Italy was the first overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by Toronto. In 433 games with the Raptors from 2006 to 2013, Bargnani had 6581 points. He reached 1000 points in a season thrice, including a career-high 1414 points in 2010-11. He then went on to play two seasons with the New York Knicks, and one season with the Brooklyn Nets.
4) Vince Carter–The native of Daytona Beach, Florida had 9420 points with the Raptors from 1998 to 2004. Twice with the Raptors, Carter exceeded 2000 points in a season. He had a career-high 2107 points with the purple dinosaurs during the 1999-2000 season, a single-season franchise record. Carter would go on to score 25728 points in a NBA-record 22 seasons.
3) Kyle Lowry–The native of Philadelphia was the starting point guard for the Raptors when they won the 2019 NBA Finals, their only championship in franchise history. In 570 regular season games with the Raptors since 2012, Lowry has scored 10019 points. His best season was in 2015-16, when he had a career-high 1634 points.
2) Chris Bosh–The native of Dallas had 10275 points with the Raptors from 2003 to 2010. His best season came in 2008-09 with the Raptors, when he had 1746 points. After seven seasons with the Raptors, Bosh moved on to play for the Miami Heat, where he won two NBA Finals alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
1)DeMar DeRozan–The native of Compton, California had a franchise-record 13296 points with the Raptors from 2009 to 2018. In 2016-17, DeRozan had a career-high 2020 points. However, one could argue DeRozan scored a lot of points because he took a lot of shots. He led the NBA in two-point field goal attempts (1238 in 2015-16, and 1421 in 2016-17). On July 18, 2018, DeRozan was involved in the biggest trade in Raptors history, as he was moved to the San Antonio Spurs in a deal that saw Kawhi Leonard become a Raptor.
