Thunder even NBA Finals at one with the Pacers

The Oklahoma City Thunder had control of the majority of game one on Thursday night before unravelling in the final minutes in a 111-110 game one loss. They did not make the same mistake on Sunday night in game two of the NBA Finals.

In a complete 48 minute performance, the Thunder delivered with a significant 123-107 win, and in the process tied the best out of seven series at one win apiece. They were even able to give some valuable time off to their star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is having one of the finest single seasons a basketball player has ever played. He only needed to play 75% of the game as the Thunder were able to give him some valuable minutes of rest.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who is a guard from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, made 11 of 21 field goals, 11 of 12 free throws, and one of four three point shots for a game-high 34 points. He added eight assists, five rebounds, four steals and one block.

Four more Thunder players reached double figures in points. Guard Alex Caruso of College Station, Texas had 20 points off the bench, forward Jalen Williams of Denver, Colorado had 19 points, shooting guard Aaron Wiggins of Greensboro, North Carolina had 18 points off the bench, and center Chet Holmgren of Minneapolis, Minnesota had 15 points.

It is interesting that the Thunder have moved Isaiah Hartenstein to the bench and moved Cason Wallace to the starting five for the NBA Finals. The move made by Mark Daigneault worked for game two, but not for game one.
