NRL Team Lists: Raiders Vs Tigers – The Biggest Betting Impacts From Team Lists

4 hours ago - Sportingbase NRL Team Lists: Raiders Vs Tigers – The Biggest Betting Impacts From Team Lists Image

The official team lists are in for Raiders vs Tigers, with several key changes creating new betting opportunities ahead of kick-off. We’ve analysed the biggest winners, losers and matchups for punters following Team List Tuesday.

Biggest Winners – Raiders

Zac Hosking

With Hudson Young ruled out for the remainder of the season, Hosking moves into the starting second row and inherits a much bigger role. He’s a proven edge forward who should see plenty of quality ball running off Ethan Strange.

Betting impact: Hosking becomes a genuine value play in anytime try scorer markets, while his increased minutes also boost tackle and run metre markets.

Ethan Strange

Without Hudson Young on his outside, Strange will take on more responsibility in Canberra’s attack. His running game has become a major weapon and he’ll be looking to challenge a Tigers edge that has leaked points throughout the season.

Betting impact: Strange shapes as one of Canberra’s strongest player market options, particularly in line break assist and try assist markets.

Joseph Tapine

Tapine will lead the Raiders’ forward pack against one of the competition’s strongest middle units. His ability to generate quick play-the-balls will be critical in giving Canberra field position.

Betting impact: If Tapine wins the middle battle, Canberra’s head-to-head, line and team total markets all receive a boost.

Biggest Losers – Raiders

Hudson Young

Young’s season-ending Achilles injury is a huge blow for Canberra, removing one of the NRL’s most damaging edge forwards and forcing a reshuffle in the pack.

Raiders left edge

The combination loses some strike without Young’s support running and finishing ability, placing extra pressure on Hosking to fill the void.

Raiders bench

Several forwards could see altered minutes following the reshuffle, making player prop markets more difficult to predict.

Biggest Winners – Tigers

Api Koroisau

Koroisau has been named to start at hooker after injury concerns earlier in the week, providing the Tigers with their most influential forward around the ruck.

Betting impact: Api’s return significantly improves the Tigers’ attack and gives Jarome Luai more opportunities to play on the front foot.

Jarome Luai

With rookie Javon Andrews making his NRL debut alongside him, Luai will shoulder even more responsibility as the chief playmaker. Everything the Tigers create is likely to flow through him.

Betting impact: Luai remains the Tigers’ best player market option for try assists and kicking-related markets.

Javon Andrews

The young halfback has been handed his NRL debut in one of the toughest assignments possible against the competition leaders. While the challenge is enormous, he’ll have the opportunity to showcase his talent alongside Luai.

Betting impact: Expect Andrews to play a supporting role, with most attacking responsibility remaining with Luai.

Biggest Losers – Tigers

Adam Doueihi

Doueihi will not play after a dramatic fallout over his proposed positional switch, leaving the Tigers without one of their most experienced attacking players.

Tigers halves experience

With Andrews making his debut and Doueihi unavailable, the Tigers lose valuable experience against one of the NRL’s best defensive sides.

Tigers edge defence

Containing Canberra’s powerful left-edge attack featuring Ethan Strange and Zac Hosking becomes even more difficult given the disruption to the Tigers’ lineup.

Early Betting Verdict

The biggest selection news is Hudson Young’s season-ending injury, forcing Canberra into a reshuffle that sees Zac Hosking promoted to the starting side. For the Tigers, Adam Doueihi’s withdrawal and Javon Andrews’ debut create a very different look in the halves alongside Jarome Luai. Canberra still appears to have the stronger and more settled lineup, making the Raiders head-to-head, Ethan Strange player markets and the Raiders’ left-edge attack the standout betting angles following Team List Tuesday.
