In the 29th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Seattle Seahawks.
Free Agent Signings
The Seahawks have two new notable players from the offseason. They are wide receiver Irvin Charles of Sicklerville, New Jersey, and cornerback Avery Smith of East Point, Georgia.
Charles was traded from the New York Jets to the Seahawks for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft. He played 25 games with the Jets in 2023 and 2024.
Smith was traded from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Seattle Seahawks for the sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He never played for the Chargers as he only signed with them on April 25.
Fantasy Stars
Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Nacogdoches, Texas is fourth among wide receivers in fantasy football. Last year, Smith-Njigba had 1793 receiving yards to lead the NFL. He had 119 receptions and 10 touchdown catches.
Jason Myers of Chula Visa, California is fourth among kickers. Last year he made 41 of 48 field goals and all 48 converts.
The Seahawks have the fourth rated defense in the NFL. Last year they only gave up 292 points as a team. That was the fourth fewest points in the NFL.
Projected Finish
There is a belief that the Los Angeles Rams will win the NFC West this year. That is because the Seahawks are not as strong as last year when they won the Super Bowl. Among the players not returning to Seattle are Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III (Kansas City), cornerback Tariq Woolen (Philadelphia), defensive end Boye Mafe (Cincinnati) and safety Coby Bryant (Chicago. As a result, the Seahawks will finish second in the NFC West.
