NRL Grand Final 2026 is almost here, with the Sydney Roosters and Newcastle Knights meeting at Accor Stadium at 7:30pm AEST on Sunday, 4 October. TSB’s free NRL Match Centre puts the form, odds, try stats and head-to-head record in one place, and this guide shows which tab to click to help you pick a winner and enjoy the game.
Whether you are having a bet, filling in a tipping card or just watching, open the TSB NRL Match Centre and go to the Roosters v Knights grand final page. The tabs on that page don’t change the web address, so below we tell you which tab to click. All figures were taken from the Match Centre on Saturday evening.
Start with the match header
The top of the page shows the kick-off time and venue, a forecast of “Fine · Good”, head-to-head odds (Roosters $1.45, Knights $2.80) and Follow buttons for each team.
Match Preview tab: the recent story
Click Match Preview for a written rundown. It notes the Roosters have won two of their last five, including a 50–20 loss to South Sydney and a 26–12 loss to the Dolphins. It also shows how tight this rivalry has been: the Roosters lead the 2026 series 2–0, the latest a 23–22 result in July, and the Preview puts the average margin in their recent winning run against Newcastle at just 4.6 points.
Match Facts tab: history leans one way
According to the Match Facts tab, the Roosters have won 16 of their last 18 games against Newcastle, five of their six NRL finals meetings (including the last three) and their last three grand finals. The Knights’ counterpoint: they won both of their grand final appearances, in 1997 and 2001.
Odds tab: compare the markets
The Odds tab covers head-to-head, line, margin, total points and try-scorer markets. At the time of writing, the line was Roosters -7.5 and Knights +7.5, both $1.90, and the total was 42.5 points, over and under both $1.90. In the margin market, Roosters 1–12 was $3.00, Roosters 13+ $2.55, Knights 1–12 $4.00 and Knights 13+ $7.25.
If you are weighing up the line, compare that 7.5-point start with the 4.6-point average margin from the Preview. For first try scorer, Mark Nawaqanitawase ($7.50), Daniel Tupou ($8.50) and James Tedesco ($10.00) are among the options; click “Show all 27” for every option. Odds were correct at the time of writing and are subject to change.
Form Guide tab: season numbers side by side
The Form Guide tab lines the teams up. The Roosters are fourth on the ladder with an 18–9 season record, averaging 26.4 points and 4.7 tries a game. The Knights are seventh at 17–10, averaging 25.4 points and 4.6 tries. On attack, there is little between them.
Recent results tell different stories. The Roosters have won their last two (36–20 over the Dolphins, 46–10 over the Sharks) after four straight losses. The Knights have won three in a row, beating the Panthers 22–14, the Warriors 12–10 and the Rabbitohs 20–10. The head-to-head card shows 10 games played: Roosters nine, Knights one.
Try Stats tab: where the tries come from
Open Try Stats for the Try Sources field map, which switches between tries scored and conceded. The Roosters score heavily on the edges, especially the right: 50 tries on the right edge and 41 on the left, against 16 through the middle. The Knights also score plenty wide (44 left, 39 right) but more through the middle than the Roosters, with 24 tries there. Flip to conceded to see how each defence matches up, handy for try-scorer markets.
Team Lists tab: check before kick-off
The Team Lists tab shows both squads as named at 3:59pm on Tuesday 29 September, split into backs, forwards, interchange, reserves and coaches. Trent Robinson coaches the Roosters and Justin Holbrook the Knights, with James Tedesco and Kalyn Ponga at fullback. Late changes are possible, and the Roosters’ Connor Watson is out, so check again closer to kick-off. Our grand final team lists breakdown covers the biggest ins and outs.
Player Stats, Ladder and search
The Player Stats tab ranks competition-wide season leaders for tries, try assists, line breaks, run metres, points, tackles, kick metres and more. Greg Marzhew leads the try list with 24, ahead of Dominic Young (23) and Nawaqanitawase (20). Sam Walker tops try assists (22) and points (203), and Marzhew also leads tackle breaks (131) from Dane Gagai (123) and Young (114). Use the search bar to find any player, team or match.
The Ladder tab shows the Panthers on top (18–6, 42 points), the Roosters fourth (16–8, 38) and the Knights seventh (14–10, 34).
What the numbers say
On paper, the Roosters’ case is clear: $1.45 favourites, higher on the ladder, dominant in recent meetings with Newcastle and winners of their last three grand finals. The Knights’ case is real too: three straight wins, a perfect grand final record, and the last meeting was decided by a single point. With both attacks averaging within a point of each other, the line and margin markets could be where it gets interesting. The Match Centre gives you the evidence; how you read it is up to you.
