The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Tim Patrick of San Diego, California to a one year contract worth $1.5 million according to Rich Cimini of ESPN on Wednesday. The Jets will be the fourth National Football League franchise Patrick has played for in his career. He previously played four seasons with the Denver Broncos from 2018 to 2021, one season with the Detroit Lions in 2024, and one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025. Patrick did not play the 2022 NFL season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and did not play the 2023 NFL season with a torn Achilles.

Patrick had 15 catches for 187 receiving yards and three touchdown catches in 2025. The best game Patrick had for the Jaguars came on December 7 in a 36-19 Jaguars win over the Indianapolis Colts. He had five catches for 78 receiving yards and a touchdown. The major score was a seven yard touchdown catch from former first overall pick Trevor Lawrence, which put the Jaguars up 28-10 with seven seconds left in the first half.

In Patrick’s career, he has 191 catches for 2590 receiving yards and 18 touchdown catches. Once in his Patrick’s career, he led his team to victory with two touchdown catches. That came on December 5, 2024 in a 34-31 Lions win over the Green Bay Packers.

Patrick joins a wide receiver group in New York that includes Garrett Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, Adonai Mitchell of Missouri City, Texas, and Omar Cooper Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana. Wilson has the potential of being an elite receiver. He eclipsed 1000 yards receiving in each of his first three NFL seasons.
