IN a pursuit of a dry track Chris Waller will be represented by three horses in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
Waller is looking for his fifth win in the Turnbull Stakes having won it for four years in a row between 2017 and 2020 with Winx winning in 2017 and 2018, then Kings Will Dream in 2019 and Verry Elleegant in 2020.
Waller scratched Surefire from the Metropolitan at Randwick to run in the Turnbull Stakes as he said he would be better suited by a drier track.

“His trackwork has been good and he’ll love a good track. He could be looking further but I think he’s sharp enough to be in the finish. We will be positive from the barrier and although he’s been trained for further I’m hoping that will help him finish off strongly,” Waller said.
Surefire will be ridden by Blake Shinn and is a $15 chance with TopSport.

Great House, resumed from spell with a fast finishing third behind Makram over 1700 metres at Flemington on September 10.
“Great House with barrier 15 has a tricky draw. It was a terrific run first-up. He finished fifth in last year’s Caulfield Cup and that’s where he’s heading this year again. I’m looking for him to finish off the race strongly. He’s going to be a great Caulfield Cup chance but I’m not saying he’s can’t win,” Waller said.
Great House is a $15 chance with TopSport and will be ridden by Brett Prebble.

He said Crystal Pegasus would improve on a firmer track and once he found form, he held it.
Crystal Pegasus is at $71 and Michael Dee takes the ride.
