South Sydney will only be speaking to Tallis Duncan about re-signing before the November 1 deadline comes around, after putting a pause on all other 2027 negotiations.
That means players like Latrell Mitchell, Campbell Graham, and Brandon Smith, as well as David Fifita, Jack Wighton, Bronson Garlick, Isaiah Tass, Jayden Sullivan, and Peter Mamouzelos will all be able to speak to rival NRL clubs when that November 1 date rolls around.

That’s as much as $6 million that could be cleared from the Souths cap, though some will still eventually re-sign with the club.
Duncan remains the exception under the grand pause — Rabbitohs brass had already heard about several interested parties that want to woo Duncan, and want to keep him away from the market.
The 24-year-old is reportedly keen to stay in cardinal and myrtle, as long as the cash is right. Sums like $800,000/year have been floated.
For the time being, he’s happy to sign before the free agency period.
Elsewhere, the Bunnies had been talking to Cody Walker about playing another year. He’s off contract at the end of the season but has been vocal about wanting to play in at least one more campaign.
