Nets vs Magic – 4:30am AEST

It’s been a frustrating year for him sharing time at C with Deandre but with him back home along with Claxton, Allen will get all the minutes he can handle. Nets have tried going small in some of the scrimmages but against Vucevic they will need Allen’s size. He had a lovely 18.1/14.4/2.3 per 36 line in those scrimmages and I would be surprised to see him play less than 30 minutes here. It’s not the perfect matchup against the slow Magic but I think we’ll be seeing this number climb over the next few weeks.

Wizards vs Suns – 6:00am AEST

May have got a little better line here if he didn’t go off in the last scrimmage (26/3/5) but definitely keen to take this. There was a lot of buzz around the Suns camp talking him up and have absolutely loved what I’ve seen from him. He had predominately been a catch & shoot guy in the past but we saw him used in much more action in the 3 scrimmages, and he didn’t disappoint with an absurd 25.1/5.8/3.1 line. He shot 7/13 from 3 so we should expect some regression there, but the opportunity will definitely be there for him in an absolute cupcake of a matchup against the Wizards. With nothing to play for, I think we’ll see Rubio & Booker play limited minutes and defer more to the younger guys.

Wizards vs Suns – 6:00am AEST

Similarly to Mikal, there was talk leading into the scrimmages of him being far more involved on offence. With no Beal or Bertans, there’s plenty of usage to go around. Really liked what I saw. He was handling the ball in a lot of half court sets, almost a straight replacement of Beal. He only played the 2 games with a per 36 line of 15.8/9.2/5.3. He was ice cold, shooting 10-27 from the field and 1-11 from 3 but it was nice to see him getting the shots up. Expect a few big games from him in Orlando. Would be really keen to play some alternate PRA lines (up to 30) here but no bookies have odds. If they pop up, get some exposure.

Kings vs Spurs – 10:00am AEST

Been a frustrating year with Pop’s reluctancy to play him and Dejounte together however we get some certainty around his playing time here with the Spurs youth movement. He’ll be starting next to Murray and should be locked into a 30+ minute role. He’s always productive when he’s out there, with a pre-season per 36 line of 19.4/5.2/6.6. I don’t expect Demar to be aggressive and with Aldridge out, there will be plenty of shots to go around. He can have some big games so keen to play some alts here.

Rockets vs Mavs – 11:00am AEST

Curry has emerged as the Mavs 3rd option behind Luka & KP and has looked great. With KP playing more 5 it opens up this offence so much and he gets plenty of open looks as we saw in their first scrimmage against the Lakers when he erupted for 23 points in 16 minutes hitting 6/6 3’s. The minutes will be there for him, and he’s clearly feeling himself so should be aggressive. I expect this to be a very up and down game against the poor rockets defence so will get his opportunities.
