Our analyst that specialises in country / provincial NSW racing has sent through his selections for Thursday’s Wagga meeting.

Track conditions:

With tracks down in the Riverina not quite drying out yet, we are met yet again with a heavy rating track.

The rail is out 3m, which should see all competitors get their chance. Look for horses who thrive in the softer conditions.

Denesc
  • Race 1
  • Jockey: S Guymer
  • Trainer: D Williams
  • Odds: $2.5 With TopSport

Tricky race to get the eight race card away. But I’ve gone with the Goulburn trained Denesc, who seems to thrive in these heavy conditions. Speed looks to be genuine here with a couple of high priced runners set to go forward. Looks for the purple colours to fly out wide late and be too good.

First Lady
  • Race 4
  • Jockey: J Ford
  • Trainer: G Portelli
  • Odds: $7 With TopSport

Tricky event is race 4, I’ve gone with the Sydney trained first lady. She loves the heavy conditions and should get the tempo to suit. Look for jockey Jay Ford to get her out of the gates cleanly and flying down the middle of the track late!
