The Czech Republic have won the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup in Shenzhen, China. This is the 12th Billie Jean King Cup/Federation Cup title for Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic all-time. That is the second most ever behind the United States, which have won 18 titles. The Czech Republic previously won in 1975, 1983, 1984, 1985, and 1988 as Czechoslovakia and then in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018 as the Czech Republic.
In the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals this past week in China, the Czech Republic won all six of their matches. They defeated Great Britain 2-0 in the quarterfinals, Spain 2-0 in the semifinals and Ukraine 2-0 in the finals.
The Czech stars were Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova, Wimbledon finalist Karolina Muchova and Marie Bouzkova. Noskova won three singles matches, as she defeated Katie Boulter of Great Britain 6-2, 7-6 in the quarterfinals, Cristina Bucsa of Spain 7-6, 6-2 in the semifinals, and Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-3, 7-6 in the finals. Bouzkova beat Sonay Kartal of Great Britain 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Muchova beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals and Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine 6-2, 6-3 in the final.
The final match of the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup saw Noskova, the sixth ranked player in the world, face Svitolina the seventh ranked player in the world. Svitolina is a four-time grand slam semifinalist (2019 Wimbledon, 2019 United States Open, 2023 Wimbledon and 2026 Australian Open). Noskova had 10 aces compared to six for Svitolina. Another key statistic was second serve points winning percentage. Noskova was at 65% and Svitolina was at 45%.
It has been quite the year for Noskova. In addition to winning the Billie Jean King Cup and Wimbledon, she beat Jessica Pegula of the United States in the final of the Berlin Open too.
