The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Wednesday’s Canterbury meeting. Our analyst has Black Booked an impressive Waterhouse/Bott 3yo that absorbed plenty of early work and a Waller filly carrying the famous Winx silks.
Front Rank
The Waterhouse/Bott 3yo had to do a lot of work to find the lead from the outside gate and was entitled to fade at the top of the straight but did the opposite charging away for 2.6L win. Debuts like that are always worth noting and he will be of interest wherever he lands in the future, particularly on a wet track.

Wootton Way
The Waller filly was forced to settle 2nd last from the outside gate. She was in an awkward spot at the top of the straight and when she finally saw clear running at the 250m she charged home to finish 0.5L 2nd. It’s always impressive to see them regather to be in the finish at Canterbury after their momentum is halted in the straight. I would love to be with her in similar company moving forward.
